According to the AP:
Seven illegal immigrant gang members were arrested Tuesday night in Aurora as part of a joint operation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Aurora police, according to a release. All face criminal charges and/or deportation.Ok, but is that all they could round up - 7 gang bangers - out of a 3 agency joint operation? The rest of the gang members all had their papers in order?
All seven are Mexican nationals and documented members of the Latin Kings and Insane Deuces street gangs, the release said. All have past criminal records, including convictions for voluntary manslaughter, burglary, drunken driving and illegally possessing a firearm, according to the release.

If someone on the Senate floor noted that millions of young working age Europeans, Russians, New Zelanders, and Australians wanted to come here...........................and we need an immigration DEFORM package to accomodate 3 million more of them per year than we previously allow,
why do I think the neo-cons, the Bush Admin, the media in general, would be against it even though many of these people already speak some Anglais' and are college educated to boot?

This is a point we need to bring up over and over........there are millions of educated Asians and Europeans who'd like to come to this country and would do MUCH better here than third world peasants who can even correctly speak THEIR own tongue.
If you can't beat em:
How about a sort of freedom train (no offense to the original). Let's provide buses and take the illegals straight to the various liberal enclaves in the country -- yes that includes Crawford, Texas. As for their gated communities, I'd love to hear Tancredo on a bullhorn saying "Mr Liberal, tear down that wall."

We have strict quotas that make it difficult for Europeans to immigrate here. It is kind of crazy - if we wanted to increase our population by 12 million over the last few years, we could have been a lot more selective about it.
But the fact is that while illegal immigration is bad, our legal immigtration policies suck too.
