Babe Teacher, Teenage Student - The Horror
I'm really not in touch with the female take on the Woman-Teacher-Seducing-Teenage-Boy phenomenon (even though I live with 4 of them - females, that is), or even the views of fathers of teenage boys (I ain't got none of those), but I think the gut reaction of most men is well summarized by Debra Lafave's husband in this Newsweek interview:

Absolutely. It was extremely painful. There was a period of time I could have been diagnosed with depression. Here was someone I thought I would spend the rest of my life with. Not only did she cheat on me, she cheated on me with a 14-year-old boy. Then it ends up on the national media. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.

I remember seeing Debra LaFavre (and Tennessee's Pamela Roges) and just being struck at how profoundly beautiful these women were..........
Im no pervert guys, but if the boys are "scarred for life", it will probably be the letdown of rarely seeing, much less being involved with someone so gorgeous again. I mean, unless these guys were just beautiful young men, chances are that neither will ever date women that look like that in their adult lives. They may compare the regular girls they court in their lives to a rather impossible ideal (magnified by their ages at the time of interaction) of these blonde beauties-------------(LaFavre in particular, how often do you see HAIR like that? Silk-like and down to her no-doubt perfectly shaped _____).
The Tennesse gal violated her probation TWICE already (contacting the boy by sending him video text messages via camera phone of her in lingere', excerpts of which were played on the local news here in Tennessee). I mention it only in passing boys that her body was just as pretty as her face, but I feel it my obligation to keep you all informed.
These teens are never gonna get over it alright...................................unfortunately (not kidding around now) they may seek out sexual thrills for many years trying to chase other beautiful women to equal the rush they felt with the unusually attractive teachers. Perhaps become "bar-whores"-meaning guys who go out on the prowl all the time, inhibiting their growth as human beings in all the hours wasted (went to college with a couple of these who worked as bouncers----always on the prowl with pockets full of phone numbers). This will be worse if these guys aren't usually attractive themselves and can never hope to match the hotties. I imagine they are also stigmatized in their hometowns as everyone (of course) knows who they are by now.
The former husbands are of course, humiliated (and dont get to sue anyone to at least get paid for it). Everybody loses here in the end.
Jesus, I wish that kind of stuff happened to me back in high school. Being victimized that way right now wouldn't be so bad either. I am sure I could live with the pain. I mean, she is a really good looking babe. Lucky bastards.
I imagine it might leave some emotional scars on the young man but, like most scars, you remember how you got them and, in this case, I think he'll smile.
LaFavre is a fine looking young tart and I'm sure she could line up 14, 24, 34, at least up to 48 (almost 49) years old guys to "assist" her with her problem.
I admit that this really does point out the double standard and I'm not sure how to address it. If it were a male teacher and a 14 year old girl, my response would be completely different. I know it's all about emotional ages and long term effects but, I think, the reality is that when it is a female teacher/young male (actaully female too)scenario, us guys just can't get as excited (maybe that is an unforunate choice of words) about it being a felony.
Clearly, she shouldn't be a teacher of kids but I'm having some real problems with the new math....

I was just checking out photos of her. Sure she´s pretty hot, but not THAT hot... If you weigh in how sick she probably is, she´s not so attractive after all (unless you see it through adolescent rose colored glasses). Her hubbie appears to be a decent looking guy and should have no trouble finding someone a bit more stable and faithful.
I think the double standard is badsed on the sex of the teacher, not the student. A male teacher seducing a male student would be seen at least as bad as a male seducing a female, and a female seducing a female would not be seen as being as bad as a male seducing a female. Itall has to do with who (if anyone) is getting poked.
I think "even worse" would be if the 14-y.o. were your younger brother. Ha!
But a 25 year old man who beds a hot 14 year old girl would be thought 'normal' - but a bastard. LaFave is thought to be mentally ill, and she probably is. It's more of a pathology (and less of a crime) when there is an adult woman seducing a teenage boy than than when it's the other way around.
