Death Sentence for the Tripoli Six

I haven't really followed this case too closely (just google on 'Tripoli Six') - 5 nurses and a doctor accused of deliberately infecting 500 children in a Libyan hospital - but it's another data point in the argument that we ought to generally keep a safe distance when dealing with the Mideast.

The interesting thing about our recent reconciliation with Libya is that it confirms what Iraq War critics have suspected all along - that we have no objections to any dictator of an oil-rich Arab country, so long as said dictator is willing to let U.S. oil companies have the production rights to his nation's oil.

Does anyone doubt that Muamar Khadaffi is every bit as nasty and unpredictable as he ever was? But it doesn't matter, because he's let Chevron and Exxon back into his hermit kingdom.

Remember, the War on Terror, or the War against Radical Islam, er, whatever they're calling it this week, its all about bringing FREEDOM to the poor, oppressed camel jockeys of the world.

I do know of one female timpanist in the U.S. A Miss Charlotte Mabrey is the timpanist for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchstra. She's been with the orchestra for over 20 years.

Try the 'Islamic world'. I think it's closer to what you're getting at anyway, since when you're talking about crooked oil sheiks I'm pretty sure you don't mean Israel.

No, 'Middle East' can certainly include North Africa.
