Bad Timing
Michele Goldberg writes today in Salon.com:
In fact, there is no war on Christmas. What there is, rather, is a burgeoning myth of a war on Christmas, assembled out of old reactionary tropes, urban legends, exaggerated anecdotes and increasingly organized hostility to the American Civil Liberties Union. It's a myth that can be self-fulfilling, as school board members and local politicians believe the false conservative claim that they can't celebrate Christmas without getting sued by the ACLU and thus jettison beloved traditions, enraging citizens and perpetuating a potent culture-war meme. This in turn furthers the myth of an anti-Christmas conspiracy.Unfortunately for her, Drudge posts this item today as well:
Airport Christmas Trees Removed. SEA-TAC Airport - All 15 Christmas trees inside the terminal at Sea-Tac have been removed in response to a complaint by a rabbi.Oh well - and she wrote such a long article, too.

As of today, it seems the trees are back. Check the Drudge Report. It is a victory, a small victory to be sure, but I'll take it. On another note, imagine if this guy tried that arguement in a muslim nation. Don't these people realize that if Christianity is no longer the faith of this nation, then we are through (and I am including leftists, ACLU types, aethists, softy Christians and the like). Guys like Bogomilsky would be the first to get it form the muslims if they ran the show. Doesn't he know that?!
