More on Immigration and the New Congress

Mickey Kaus has a good run-through of immigration politics and some reasons for optimism (for the fate of the country, that is).

Ziel,

I hope this turns out to be so. I feel like one chance that folks who do not wish to see two countries become one might have is hinged on the black electorate. No group has been hit harder by cheap labor.

Ive steeled myself for a loss on this issue. Have quietly expected it for a few years now, but have been determined to be "loud" about it, because its about the best example Ive ever seen of the elite harming the electorate for selfish purposes undemocratically by throwing around their weight.

If we lose, we will be the ones who have to assimilate these folks as best we can. Whats a shame is this: If amnesty was granted and the immigration limits got very high, yet we "Americanized" the Mexicans to graduate high school, attend tech schools and colleges............the same neo-cons would then be arguing for importing more cheap labor from wherever in the world it was available. Africa, Middle East, Indonesia, China, ..........you name it. They are a selfish lot that wants everything their way, despite the voting public. Trotsky indeed

The black electorate is too beholden to the Democratic Party to act in their own best interest. Rampant promiscuity and immorality has devastated the black population, yet they continue to elect liberals who are driven to implement policies that scourge the black community. The imaginary Rainbow Coalition between blacks and Hispanics is a case in point. Black leaders see Mexicans as brother "non-whites", but Mexicans see blacks as disliked rivals for jobs, influence, and turf.

Black leaders may see Mexicans as their brothers in a cause, but black Americans do not. In L.A. a small scale war goes on between them. A war that despite ending up in a trial of Mexicans accused of organizing a purge of blacks receives little attention by the media. (Warning: Here comes the tired but true rant) Could you imagine if whites were on trial for the same offense. There would not be enough satellite trucks in the world to cover such a thing.
We can win the battle to stop amnesty. There are huge numbers of Americans who dont want it.
Here is just one idea: A campaign in Calif. that tells folks if the numbers keep coming the state will have to turn to recycled water. This is an issue that would mobilize many. The toilet to tap picture is our royal flush in this game. And if you think this is a joke, you are not thinking, and you don't know Calif.

"...a trial of Mexicans accused of organizing a purge of blacks..."
"Ethnic-cleansing campaign" might be a more helpful description than "purge".

"The toilet to tap picture is our royal flush in this game."

Colorful way of describing the problem, sN. Obviously, it is becoming totally unlivable in Southern California. It must be, since so many people from there are flocking to places like Pheonix, where they get to enjoy the same rapid Mexicanization, only in a city that has even bigger water issues (as so much of their water table is diverted to keeping the area's burgeoning golf courses nice and green).

A recurring theme you hear from people everywhere in the U.S. these days is: "This was a nice place to live 10 years ago, but since then its totally turned to sh*t". How much of this is due to illegal immigration, I don't know. But most people seem to be convinced that illegal immigration is at least one thing we can control in the effort to reverse a declining quality of life.
