Palin on Fox

Just watched Sarah Palin inaugural appearance as a Fox News Analyst on the O'Reilly Factor. I must say she didn't sound any stupider than any other politicians I see interviewed on TV.

I hope Palin will do the amount of reading necessary to excel at what she is attempting to do.

Palin may never run for president, but she can become a kind of "anti-Oprah" for the right amongst white females, a demographic the republicans need to win more and more.

The ball is in Sarah Palin's court, she can either do the research and work on her delivery, or resort to being just the cute-sports-anchor that she used to be. She can become a "figure" on the right that will have some sway if she plays this opportunity right. She's going to have to do some research and reading though, and I hope she can polish up her delivery somewhat.

She doesn't make a lot of sense most of the time. She doesn't have a chance though - who could possibly be advising her that's would give her any kind of sensible advice? No one - they're just going to prep her to provide some bland neo-con light crap.

I just watched a few seconds of a segment of Palin on Fox.

You are right. She is repeating the cliches she has been given to say. She might as well be any other Fox-host repeating stock-phrases and buzzwords. I hope it doesn't degenerate into neo-con puppeteering, but thats what it looked like. She was on Hannity. On to Yemen we go I suppose. I fear she will be for that too, and be used to tell red-states that its a good thing.

As I've remarked in numerous places, Palin appears to me to have an IQ in the 110 - 115 range, probably about the same as most American politicians. She isn't any sort of intellectual titan or anything, but she certainly isn't stupid. The biggest problem is that she simply accepts the current moderate republican/soft left conventional wisdom, and I'm not really sure that is what is needed right now.

She is an idiot. If you put her brains and George Bush's brains together, they wouldn't amount to enough for a solid main course in a brain's eating restaurant in China.
What Palin seems to have is either an incredible, so far unidentified, handler/manager or a degree of lack of self awareness not seen for a long time in American politics.
Most agree that she was an incredibly bad choice by McCain; was one of few who could make Biden seem articulate & normal and, contributed to (if not caused) McCain's loss. That is, either you couldn't fathom the idea of her as President (can anyone, really??) or you couldn't vote for a candidate who would select her as a running mate.
The fact that she is still considered anything but a novelty is amazing. The only time she has said anything that wasn't scripted, she's revealed herself as a fool (and even sometimes when she follows the script).
If she doesn't cash in on her 15 minutes soon and flash a t*t for Playboy (for charity, of course - Unwed Teens?), she will fade away.
Republicans who treat her seriously are severely damaging a damaged party.
I do not want to live in a country that she could be elected to run, in any capacity. I'd vote for George Bush first. No, I'd leave the country.

There's a hell of a lot worse happening to this country than Sarah Palin. But where are you going to go? What country do you think would actually take you? Do you speak a foreign languare? Do you have highly technical job skills? No, you do not. So no country is going to take you. Unlike America, which is on the road to ruin by turning the majority of its people into Third Worlders, any country you'd want to move to doesn't accept immigrants without special skills.

No, you're going to have to stay here and watch the nation be ruined by these "enlightened" politicians that you find so much more appealing than Sarah Palin.

Ziel, what makes you think a President Palin would do anything more than her predecessors to avert the Third World-ization of this country? By all appearances, she's just another puppet who does what shes told just like another recent Republican dupe - George W. Bush.

I don't trust Palin to be any better. I think if she went with her gut (ie., with Tod's gut) she'd make better decisions than the average politician. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the knowledge and wherewithal to put together her own agenda, and is dependent on neo-con hacks for her agenda. But I wouldn't think that what separates the U.S. from ruin is whether or not Sarah Palin becomes president. Where on our way already, and directly as a result of all those politicians who are thought to be so much more competent than she.

Ziel:
I'm not sure if you are speaking generally or specifically to me. I do have technical skills and also speak several versions of english.
I'm not arguing that today's "leaders" are the answer to our problems. I'm only suggesting that Palin clearly is not.
There are several attractive, educated and experienced conservatives out there. They need to be identified, step up and be publicized. Palin is a terrible standard bearer.
She is a nitwit and it should concern all real conservatives if she is the best you've got.
