Reporters Without Shame
Otherwise known as the White House Press Corps. NPR's Scott Horsley may have achieved greatness today in that category this evening. He typically covers matters like Obama's health care proposals or his pick for the Supreme Court. These stories allow Horsley to swoon under a pretense of objective reporting. But today he covered a trip by local kids to the White House garden "planted" by Michelle Obama. Amidst Iranian elections, North Korean militancy, an imploding nation to our south, a continued world-wide recession, it's good to know Scott Horsley, crack reporter for NPR, could uncover such an important story to tell his listeners. Of course, this is exactly the kind of story your typical NPR listener craves - I shudder imagining all those skinny, grey-haired Presbyterian ladies squirming in their seats over this latest bit of Obamagasm. Go on - have a listen - it's not to be believed (or rather, it's all too believable).

Miles here. Man, here as of late the media has been pounding with us with reports of "exploding right wing extremeism and violence" since the election of Obama. The media (notice how that is word is a singular noun now?) has parroted the Holocaust Museum shooting (1 person killed) and an abortion doctor killing ad naseum.
I attempted to add up the recent LEFT-WING acts of murderous violence both successful and attempted at HalfSigma's blog the other day. Off the top of my head I came up with:
1 shooting in Arkansas by a black Muslim on a military recruiter (and a killer who had plans and weapons to kill more before he was caught).
1 beheaded women of a middle eastern Muslim man in New York state (largely forgotten now).
4 black Muslims in New York who wanted to bomb a synagogue(s) and shoot down military aircraft with surface-to-air missiles they got from the FBI (harmless fakes). Potentially hundreds of victims there.
1 beheading at Virgnia Tech (coffee shop right off campus) by an Asian student several months ago. This was reported in the media as a stabbing (which was a lie of obfuscation). Conservative immigration policy would mean this kid wouldn't be here in all likelihood, so I label it a liberal death.
13 dead in Va Tech shootings of another Asian kid who probably should't be here.
13 dead at the New York Immigration center by another Asian who went off the rails. Apparently he was irritated that he couldn't speak English. Everyone who knew him seemed to see it coming, but our civilization is apparently defenseless.
Thats just right off the top of my head. Ive probably forgotten about an incident or two. I'd label much of this violence as left-wing. I imagine every killer I just listed voted Democrat if they voted at all in the last election. In my opinion the right wing needs to adopt some of the left wing's tactics and go on the offensive. When they say the nation is awash in right wing violence, its to make right wingers apologize for two fruitcakes. We need to make them apologize for all of their fruitcakes. Right wing websites need to have the hatestats and hatefacts posted prominently on them straight from the FBI crime report so that rightwingers can quote them and send them as links via email to every leftwinger they know. An information cascade to throw in their faces every chance we get.
There is more handwringing in the media over "militias" with guns than black criminals with guns. Im afraid the body counts from black criminals are quite high. Has a right wing militia member ever killed -anybody- that we know of?
Post Script: thugreport.com is a good place (seemingly humorous) to get a very good look at the real color of crime in this nation. It comes on like a joke, but the stories on it are real. The disparity in who behaves badly is really out of whack demographically.
