So Now You Can't Even F-ing Run Away?

There's lots of talk about making the "Runaway Bride" pay for her malfeasance - which is what exactly? She took off! She left her home where she was living and went somewhere! Now you can't even do that?! Her only way out may be to plead insanity. If you ask me, it's everyone else who's out of their fucking minds.

It's not a crime to run away- but it is a crime to claim you have been kidnapped and wasting the resources of law enforcement.

My last comment was grammitically incorrect. It sounded like it was written by the white trash in-breeds that kidnappd the lady from Georgia. Oh, I forgot- that was a hoax. Arrest her for defaming trailer trash whites!!!!!!!

Let's take a deep breath. She went on a little trip without telling anybody. After a few days away, she called and reported being abducted, but then quickly (within an hour) recanted and admitted she was not abducted. She never reported herself missing. So for this she's to be punished?
Here are some ideas to avoid this in the future:
1) require a deposit - say, $5,000 - before the authorities begin a search
2) require individuals to report to the local police prior to leaving town for more than 24 hours
3) require brides-to-be to wear electronic ankle bracelets prior to their weddings

An entire country seems to be unable to think rationally about this - and we're about to set a very scary precedent out of one big national hissy fit.

It is all Fox News fault because no one wants issues they want drama and they get these white trash families to cry on cue.

I think we have to stop saying white trash because Fox doesn't care if anyone other than white people are missing.

Dano, CNN has been the leader on this issue, giving near 24x7 coverage. How do you blame Fox news alone versus all the other media outlets, as if CNN is breaking into their coverage to cover each missing person in every ghetto in the country. Do you or Al Franken ever think of anything else but Fox News?

But Dano makes an important observation - our obsession with missing persons creates this national mobilization of interest that results in disproportionate anger and guilt-laying on someone who did something that really should only affect the 100-or-so people involved in the wedding. They can be pissed at her - but it's really no one else's business.
